TITLE:
Web Help Desk Script Insertion Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA34596

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/34596/

DESCRIPTION:
Yogesh Kulkarni has discovered some vulnerabilities in Web Help Desk,
which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion
attacks.

Input passed via various form fields (e.g. "Report Name", "Asset
No.", and "Full Name" in the Models setting) is not properly
sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert
arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious
data is viewed.

Successful exploitation may require according privileges to access
the settings.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 9.1.22 (evaluation
version). Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Grant only trusted users access to the application.

PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Yogesh Kulkarni
