TITLE:
LinPHA Cross-Site Scripting and Cross-Site Request Forgery
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA34130
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/34130/
DESCRIPTION:
Russ McRee has discovered some vulnerabilities in LinPHA, which can
be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and
cross-site request forgery attacks.
1) Input passed to the "imgid" parameter in
actions/image_resized_view.php is not properly sanitised before being
returned to the user in functions/image.php. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.
2) Input passed to the "friend_full_name" parameter in admin.php
(when "redirector" is set to "mod_user" and "page" is set to
"mysettings") is not properly sanitised before being returned to the
user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code
in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
3) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP
requests without performing any validity checks to verify the
requests. This can be exploited to e.g. delete arbitrary users by
enticing a logged in administrator to visit a malicious web page.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.3.4. Other versions
may also be affected
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised. Do
not browse untrusted web sites or follow untrusted links while being
logged in to the application.
